ShadowGlen Residential Community, Ltd. a partnership between McGuyer Homebuilders, Inc. (MHI) and ShadowGlen Development Corp. breaks ground on single family residential portion of a 1,660-acre master-planned golf community in Austin's new northeast corridor.

Designed by Bechtol/Russell Golf, ShadowGlen features an 18-hole golf course sculpted into rolling terrain. The community will also feature a four-acre water park with a junior size Olympic size pool, a splash pool, and a giant slide pool.

ShadowGlen, the closest new mater-planned community to downtown Austin, offer reduced travel times to some of Austin's Technology firms including Dell, Samsung and Applied Materials. Bergstrom International Airport is only ten minutes away and the new Highway 130 bypass is within close proximity.

Located just northeast of Austin on US 290, ShadowGlen will add more than 3,200 homesites and bring as many as 8,000 new residents to the area. The development is expected to take ten to twelve years for completion.

"We wanted a location that was affordable, comfortable and eliminated long commute times -- we have found all these attributes in ShadowGlen," said Jim Zimmerman, General Manager Land Development.

The development will be the first of its kind in the area and is expected to draw a variety of first time homebuyers, move-up buyers and retirees. Homes priced from the $120s to the $300s will be sold.

ShadowGlen has garnered local notoriety as one of many developments expanding in the Austin area.
